SportFits Test: Plus Size Fitness Clothing

Every January, millions of people decide to step up their workouts in the new year. As a result, gym registrations skyrocket and fitness apparel becomes one of the most popular areas to shop. After all, the right clothing can go a long way in improving performance and motivation! Unfortunately, finding the right fit for plus sizes can be quite difficult. That’s why we decided to test the quality, fit and comfort of a complete set of plus size clothing from our store.

Famous brands that fit everyone

Well-known sports brands are often criticized for not fitting everyone. Oftentimes, sizing stops at 40 or 42 or sizes run exceptionally small. This is a problem for overweight people who decide to start exercising. Instead, they look to unknown manufacturers or cheap fast fashion brands for fitness clothing.

However, there are some well-known brands that also cater to the sizes demanded by larger consumers. In the outdoor sector, these include CMP and MAUL, and skiers can find the right jacket and pants at Schöffel. But what about fitness and running?

I opted for size 48 SportFits apparel, which includes the CRAFT Training Bra Classic, CMP Women’s Long Pants Training Pants, CRAFTCore Unify Logo T-Shirt and Puma Flyer Runner Femme Shoes.

T-shirts: comfortable fit and functionality

The CRAFT Core Unify logo t-shirt is very lightweight and breathable.
Going to the gym is always a struggle for larger people. It’s not uncommon to encounter judgmental stares, and you don’t want to appear negative in them. Well-fitting clothes greatly help to feel better. However, it’s important that they don’t slip or get too tight in the wrong places.

Shirts also have a personal preference factor. Do you prefer short-sleeved or sleeveless tops? Should the cut be athletic or wide? How long should the shirt be?

However, function is much more important than appearance. Shirts must be breathable and lightweight to ensure a comfortable body climate.

Fitness pants: fit and movement

The CMP women’s pants have a striking pattern.
Buying plus-size pants can be a nightmare for many people, where finding the right fit is particularly difficult. Pants usually scale: the bigger the size, the longer the length. Unfortunately for short people like me, this can make them unwearable unless there are shorter sizes available. Even with larger thighs, you’ll quickly reach your search limit. Sweatpants usually promise enough stretch, but that doesn’t guarantee an optimal fit. In addition, the garment must also be functional. For example, unrestricted freedom of movement should be a must.

Shoes: comfort for heavy wearers

The Puma Flyer Runner Femme shoes are comfortable even during long workouts.
More weight means significantly more energy per step, which must be absorbed or transformed by the shoe to protect the joints and maintain momentum while running. This requires the use of robust materials and well thought out running technology in the design.

Ideally, the shoes should also have qualities such as breathability. What’s more, they must feel comfortable, even during prolonged exercise. They should also be as durable as possible and keep their shape so that they don’t have to be replaced after a few months.
