Adidas sportswear review: are big brands worth the hype?

I’ve never been a huge fan of branded sportswear, but after taking up running early last year, I’ve realised that investing in well-made, fit-for-purpose, quality kit offers real value. When I was approached by Adidas to take part in a project to review their women’s range, I used it as an opportunity to see if the big brand lived up to its sportswear reputation. I chose a number of running, workout and leisure items to try. The following review is intended to be short, to the point and from a practical perspective rather than a fashion one. Here’s what I found ……

This is sportswear with a conscience, made from Parley Ocean Plastic (upcycled plastic waste and recycled polyester). I’m glad to see many of the products in Adidas’ current range using upcycled materials and promoting environmentally conscious fashion.

Verdict: Great. Lightweight and comfortable. I opted for a loose but not too big medium. I don’t like tank tops sticking to my body when I run, so this was ideal. The sides expose a bit of side boob so I would recommend a decent sports bra or revealing top.

Would I recommend this to a friend? YES. Always keen to promote functional products using upgraded materials
