If you’re interested in functional, high-quality and exceptionally sustainable clothing, then Swedish outdoor brand Houdini is the place for you. It is very committed to eco-friendly production and tries to inspire people to minimize their ecological footprint through various activities. Especially with its PFAS-free softshell clothing, Houdini sets an example and thus contributes to environmental protection. We explain what makes these clothes so special!

100% PFAS-free clothing

Some people may not realize it: many waterproof garments pose a danger to us and our environment. That’s because, for example, raincoats are often treated with PFAS for better water and dust resistance.
But what does PFAS really mean?
PFAS are poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances – chemicals that do not occur naturally in the environment. As such, they do not degrade naturally, are carcinogenic, and negatively affect the immune and reproductive systems of humans and animals.

What makes Houdini shells special: they are made using sustainable technology and are therefore completely PFAS-free.

A clean alternative to Houdini
The Swedish sports company Houdini has had a deep connection to nature since its inception. For this reason in particular, round functional materials are used in the manufacture of all Houdini shells, which are never treated with harmful PFAS or other toxic chemicals.

As early as 2012, Houdini began eliminating PFAS from all of its collections. As of 2018, no more hazardous chemicals are used. Instead, Houdini showcased Atmos, a PFAS-free membrane, and a bio-based waterproofing coating from Organotex, which is also PFAS-free.
